Student Dress Code
Students may choose clothing that makes them feel comfortable and safe, as long as it complies with the following guidelines, which apply regardless of gender:
- Clothing must not depict any violence, hatred, drugs, alcohol, gang affiliation, profanity, offensive language, or cruelty of any kind.
- Clothing must cover all appropriate areas at all times. Appropriate areas include stomach, chest, sides, and butt/pelvic/upper thigh areas.
- Items such as tank tops, sleeveless shirts, any type of shorts, coats, jackets, etc., are all allowed, provided they adhere to the above requirements of this Dress Code section. (Low backs are allowed.)
- Jewelry is allowed unless it becomes a safety concern or depicts inappropriate content.
- If wearing head coverings, students must be identifiable by school staff members.
- Footwear must be worn for health reasons. (Cannot be shoeless.)
- Students are allowed to modify their athletic or team uniform for the purpose of modesty in clothing or attire that is in accordance with the requirements of their religion, cultural values, or modesty preferences.
The district is not responsible for any loss or damage to any personal property, including clothing, brought by students onto district property.
